Description

What will the shorelines of Ilwaco, Chinook, and the places that matter to you look like in the future? You’re invited to a workshop series to answer this question.

The second workshop of this three-part series is scheduled for June 20, 2023, at 6 p.m. and will take place at the Historic Chinook School. The first workshop was held on March 30, but attendance at the previous session is not a requirement for participation in the upcoming event.

During this workshop, attendees will delve into the issues identified in the previous workshop. Participants will examine the projected changes affecting these areas due to rising sea levels. They will also discuss existing mitigation efforts and brainstorm new solutions. The goal is to establish a community-defined set of criteria for prioritizing solutions to address the challenges posed by sea level rise.

Pizza, snacks, and refreshments will be provided. Gifts from local vendors and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a door prize will be offered to all workshop participants. To encourage families to attend, a dedicated kids' drawing and activity table will be set up in the venue.

The workshop series is organized by Washington Sea Grant, Pacific Conservation District, and the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership. For further details and inquiries, please reach out to Jackson Blalock at the Pacific County Conservation District via email at jblalock@pacificcd.org.
